COMMERCIAL KITCHEN · PROJECT CASE STUDY
Commercial Kitchen Deep Cleaning in Pleasanton, CA
A senior living community in Pleasanton needed a deeper level of cleaning across three production kitchens where grease and everyday buildup had accumulated on cooking equipment, walls and surrounding surfaces.
System4 completed a detailed kitchen deep clean to restore these heavily used areas and make ongoing upkeep more manageable. Following the initial project, the facility moved to a twice-monthly rotating maintenance schedule.

The Challenge
Production kitchens see a different kind of wear than most areas of a commercial facility. Daily cooking can leave grease and buildup across equipment, cook lines, walls, floors and surfaces that routine cleaning doesn’t always fully address.
At this Pleasanton property, accumulated grease had dulled stainless steel, decorative copper surfaces and areas surrounding the cook lines. With three active production kitchens to address, the project required a detailed cleaning plan that went beyond everyday kitchen upkeep.
Before & After the Commercial Kitchen Deep Clean
The difference was especially visible around the cooking equipment and metal surfaces, where accumulated buildup had hidden much of the original finish.
What System4 Cleaned
The deep-cleaning scope extended across the kitchens rather than focusing on a single piece of equipment or surface.
Work included:
- Floors and baseboards
- Floor drains
- FRP wall surfaces
- Stainless steel walls
- Decorative copper walls
- Hoods and filters
- Cook lines, ranges and backsplashes
- Convection ovens
- Standard ovens
- Cold cabinets
- Refrigerators
- Steam tables
- Kitchen doors
This broader scope allowed the team to address buildup throughout the production environment rather than treating the project as a simple surface cleaning.
From a Deep Clean to Ongoing Maintenance
The initial deep clean addressed the accumulated buildup, but the project didn’t end there.
Following the service, System4 established a twice-monthly rotating maintenance schedule for the facility’s three production kitchens. Instead of waiting for the kitchens to reach the same condition again, the recurring schedule allows different areas to receive deeper attention as part of an ongoing plan.
For a high-use commercial kitchen, that distinction matters: restorative cleaning can address existing buildup, while planned maintenance helps keep it from becoming another major project.
